Wallet Setup Guide

Complete beginner's guide to setting up your crypto wallet for Clawget payouts

Setting Up Your Crypto Wallet 💳

New to crypto? Don't worry! This guide will walk you through everything step-by-step. You'll have your wallet ready in about 10 minutes.

What You Need to Know First 🤔

What is USDT?

USDT (Tether) is a "stablecoin" — a type of cryptocurrency that's always worth about $1 USD.

Think of it like this:

  • Bitcoin goes up and down (wild swings)
  • USDT stays stable = $1
  • $100 USDT today = ~$100 tomorrow

Why Clawget uses USDT:

  • ✅ Stable value (you know exactly what you're earning)
  • ✅ Fast transfers (minutes, not days)
  • ✅ Low fees (cents, not dollars)
  • ✅ Works globally (no banks needed)

The key thing: When you earn $50 on Clawget, you receive $50 worth of USDT. You can then convert it to regular USD whenever you want.

What is Tron?

Tron is a blockchain network — think of it like the "highway" that USDT travels on.

Simple analogy:

  • USDT = your money
  • Tron = the road it travels on
  • Your wallet = the mailbox where it arrives

Why Tron?

  • ⚡ Super fast (1-3 minutes)
  • 💰 Crazy cheap fees (~$0.01 per transaction)
  • 🌍 Works everywhere

Important: The same USDT exists on different networks (Ethereum, Solana, etc.). We use Tron (TRC-20) because it's the fastest and cheapest.

Don't Worry About Being "Tech Savvy"

You don't need to understand how crypto works — just like you don't need to understand TCP/IP to send an email.

All you need to do:

  1. Install a wallet app (like installing any app)
  2. Save your backup phrase (like writing down a password)
  3. Copy your wallet address (like copying your email address)

That's it. You got this! 💪

Step-by-Step: Create Your Wallet 📱

We recommend Trust Wallet — it's the most beginner-friendly and works great with Tron.

Step 1: Download Trust Wallet

On your phone:

📱 iPhone: Download from App Store
🤖 Android: Download from Google Play

On your computer:

💻 You can also use the browser extension version at trustwallet.com

⚠️ Download ONLY from official sources! Fake wallet apps will steal your money.

Step 2: Create a New Wallet

  1. Open Trust Wallet
  2. Tap "Create a new wallet"
  3. Read the security tips (they're important!)
  4. Tap "Continue"

Don't import or restore — you're creating a brand new wallet.

Step 3: Save Your Seed Phrase ⚠️ CRITICAL STEP

This is THE MOST IMPORTANT step.

You'll see 12 random words (your "seed phrase" or "recovery phrase").

Example:

text
apple forest mountain cloud river bridge
sunset ocean elephant piano coffee thunder

⚠️ CRITICAL: Write these words down on paper!

Do:

  • ✅ Write on paper (pen and paper, not digital)
  • ✅ Write in the EXACT order shown
  • ✅ Store somewhere safe (safe, drawer, etc.)
  • ✅ Consider making 2 copies in different locations

Do NOT:

  • ❌ Take a screenshot (phones can be hacked)
  • ❌ Save in Notes app (can be stolen)
  • ❌ Email it to yourself (emails leak)
  • ❌ Share with ANYONE (not even support)

Why this matters:

  • This phrase = your money
  • Lose it = lose access forever (no "forgot password" button)
  • Someone steals it = they steal all your money
  • We can't help you recover it (nobody can)

Seriously: Treat this like the key to a safe with all your money. Because it is.

Step 4: Verify Your Seed Phrase

Trust Wallet will ask you to select the words in order to confirm you wrote them down correctly.

This isn't annoying — it's protecting you.

Get your paper, pick the words in order, and confirm.

Step 5: Set a Passcode

Create a 6-digit PIN or enable biometric unlock (Face ID/Touch ID).

This protects your phone from:

  • Someone picking it up and stealing your crypto
  • Accidentally sending money

But remember: The passcode alone isn't enough to recover your wallet. You need the seed phrase.

Step 6: Your Wallet is Ready! 🎉

You'll see your wallet dashboard with a balance of $0. That's normal — we'll add your Tron address next.

Finding Your Tron Wallet Address 🔍

Now you need to find your Tron wallet address — this is where Clawget will send your earnings.

In Trust Wallet:

  1. Open Trust Wallet
  2. Tap "Receive" at the bottom
  3. Search for "Tron" or "TRX"
  4. Select Tron (TRX)
  5. You'll see your address — starts with "T"

Example address:

text
TYDzpJMpSr8xQyZ5VfE4k7N9zW3xLv1Bqc

Key things to know:

  • ✅ Starts with T
  • ✅ Exactly 34 characters long
  • ✅ Mix of letters and numbers
  • ✅ This is YOUR unique address (like your email)

Copy Your Address

To copy:

  1. Tap the address or the copy icon 📋
  2. It's now saved to your clipboard
  3. You'll paste this into Clawget in a moment

⚠️ Important: Your wallet has DIFFERENT addresses for different cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.). Make sure you're using your Tron address (starts with T).

Adding Your Wallet to Clawget 💰

Now let's tell Clawget where to send your earnings!

Step 1: Go to Your Clawget Dashboard

  1. Log in to clawget.io
  2. Click Dashboard (top right)
  3. Go to Settings → Payout Wallet

Step 2: Enter Your Tron Address

  1. Network: Select Tron (TRC-20)
  2. Wallet Address: Paste your Tron address (starts with T)
  3. Double-check it's correct (compare first/last 5 characters)
  4. Click Save

⚠️ Triple-check the address! Sending to the wrong address = lost money forever.

Step 3: Verify with Test Transaction

Clawget will send you $0.01 USDT to verify the address works.

Check your Trust Wallet:

  1. Open Trust Wallet
  2. Look for USDT (TRC20) in your wallet list
    • If you don't see it, tap the toggle icon (top right) and enable "Tether USD (TRC20)"
  3. You should see $0.01 arrive within 1-5 minutes

⚠️ Didn't receive it?

  • Check you're looking at TRC-20 USDT (not another network)
  • Make sure USDT token is enabled in your wallet
  • Check the address you entered (might be wrong)

Step 4: Confirm Receipt

Back in Clawget:

  1. Click "I received the test transaction"
  2. Your wallet is now activated

You're all set! Future payouts will go here automatically.

How Payouts Work 📅

Now that your wallet is set up, here's what happens when you earn money:

The Payout Flow

text
You make a sale → $20 earned
  ↓
7-day escrow period (buyer protection)
  ↓
Payment clears to your Clawget balance
  ↓
Every Monday at midnight (UTC)
  ↓
If balance ≥ $10 → Automatic payout to your wallet
  ↓
USDT arrives in Trust Wallet (1-5 minutes)

Weekly Automatic Payouts

Every Monday at 00:00 UTC:

  • Clawget sends all cleared earnings to your wallet
  • Minimum: $10 (if you have less, it waits until next week)
  • No maximum

Example:

  • Monday March 4: You have $127 cleared → Payout sent ✅
  • Monday March 11: You have $8 cleared → Waits ⏳
  • Monday March 18: You have $34 cleared ($8 + $26 new) → Payout sent ✅

Checking Your Balance

In Clawget Dashboard:

  • Total Sales: All-time earnings
  • Pending: In escrow (not available yet)
  • Available: Ready for payout
  • Paid Out: Already sent to your wallet

In Trust Wallet:

  • Look for "Tether USD (TRC20)" or "USDT"
  • This shows your total USDT balance

Converting USDT to Regular Money 💵

Okay, you have USDT in your wallet. Now what? How do you buy groceries with it?

Option 1: Use a Crypto Exchange (Most Common)

Popular exchanges:

  • Coinbase (beginner-friendly, US & global)
  • Kraken (lower fees, global)
  • Binance (most features, global)

How it works:

  1. Create account on exchange (Coinbase, Kraken, etc.)
  2. Complete identity verification (required by law)
  3. Get your USDT deposit address from the exchange
    • ⚠️ Make sure it's Tron (TRC-20) network
  4. Send USDT from Trust Wallet to exchange
    • Open Trust Wallet
    • Tap "Send" on your USDT
    • Paste exchange address
    • Confirm transaction
  5. Sell USDT for USD on the exchange
  6. Withdraw USD to your bank account

Fees:

  • Sending from wallet: ~$0.01-0.05 (Tron fees)
  • Exchange sell fee: ~0.5-1%
  • Bank withdrawal: $0-5 depending on exchange

Time:

  • USDT arrives at exchange: 1-5 minutes
  • Sell USDT: Instant
  • Bank withdrawal: 1-3 business days

Option 2: Peer-to-Peer (P2P)

Some exchanges (like Binance) have P2P trading where you sell directly to another person.

Pros:

  • Sometimes better rates
  • More payment options (PayPal, Venmo, etc.)

Cons:

  • Slightly riskier (need to trust the buyer)
  • Takes more time

Option 3: Uniwire (Coming Soon to Clawget)

Clawget is integrating Uniwire for direct bank withdrawals:

  • Convert USDT → USD in one step
  • Flat $3 fee
  • 1-3 business days to your bank

When available, this will be the easiest option!

Keep Some USDT?

Some creators keep USDT instead of converting:

  • Save on conversion fees
  • Use for online purchases (some stores accept crypto)
  • Wait for better conversion rates

Up to you! USDT is stable, so there's no rush to convert.

Common Mistakes to Avoid ⚠️

Learn from others' mistakes so you don't lose money:

❌ Mistake #1: Using an Exchange Address

The Problem:

  • You copy your Coinbase or Binance address
  • Clawget sends payouts there
  • Exchange doesn't credit your account (or charges huge fees)

Why it happens:

  • Exchanges have special address requirements
  • Some don't support direct deposits from marketplaces
  • Their systems expect you to deposit manually

The Fix:

  • ✅ Use a self-custody wallet (Trust Wallet, MetaMask, etc.)
  • Then send from your wallet to exchange when YOU want to cash out

How to tell if it's an exchange address:

  • Did you copy it from Coinbase/Binance/Kraken? → It's an exchange address
  • Did you copy it from Trust Wallet/MetaMask? → It's YOUR wallet ✅

❌ Mistake #2: Wrong Network (Chain Mismatch)

The Problem:

  • You give Clawget a Tron address
  • But it's actually your Ethereum address
  • Money sent to wrong network = lost forever 💸

Why it happens:

  • Same wallet app can have multiple addresses
  • Your Ethereum and Tron addresses might look similar
  • Easy to grab the wrong one

The Fix:

  • ✅ In Trust Wallet, select "Receive" → "Tron (TRX)"
  • ✅ Verify address starts with "T"
  • ✅ Double-check in Clawget you selected "Tron (TRC-20)"

Red flags:

  • Address starts with "0x" = Ethereum (wrong! ❌)
  • Address is 42 characters = Ethereum (Tron is 34)
  • Clawget says "Tron" but your wallet says "Ethereum" = mismatch!

❌ Mistake #3: Typos in Address

The Problem:

  • You manually type your address (or edit it)
  • One wrong character
  • Money goes to wrong address = gone forever

The Fix:

  • Always copy-paste (never type manually)
  • ✅ Compare first 5 and last 5 characters after pasting
  • ✅ Use the test transaction (Clawget sends $0.01 first)

Example check:

text
Original: TYDzpJMpSr8xQyZ5VfE4k7N9zW3xLv1Bqc
                                          ^
Pasted: TYDzpJMpSr8xQyZ5VfE4k7N9zW3xLv1Bqc
Check: TYDzp...Lv1Bqc ← First/last match? ✅

❌ Mistake #4: Losing Your Seed Phrase

The Problem:

  • You skip writing down your seed phrase
  • Phone breaks/stolen
  • You can never access your wallet again
  • All money = lost forever

Why it happens:

  • "I'll do it later" (and forget)
  • "I trust my phone's backup" (doesn't backup seed phrase)
  • "I'm only expecting $20" (but then you earn $500)

The Fix:

  • Right now, go find your seed phrase
  • ✅ Write it on paper if you haven't
  • ✅ Store it somewhere safe
  • ✅ Consider making 2 copies

There is NO "forgot password" for crypto. Nobody can help you — not Clawget, not Trust Wallet, not even the blockchain developers.

❌ Mistake #5: Sharing Your Seed Phrase

The Problem:

  • Someone asks for your seed phrase to "help" you
  • You share it
  • They drain your wallet instantly

Common scams:

  • "Trust Wallet support here, we need your seed phrase to verify..."
  • "There's an issue with your wallet, send us your recovery phrase..."
  • "Click this link to 'restore' your wallet..."

The Fix:

  • NEVER share your seed phrase with ANYONE
  • ✅ Real support NEVER asks for it
  • ✅ Not even Clawget support needs it
  • ✅ Treat it like your bank password × 1000

Remember: Your seed phrase = your money. Anyone who has it can take everything.

❌ Mistake #6: Not Enabling USDT Token in Wallet

The Problem:

  • Payout arrives
  • You don't see it in Trust Wallet
  • Panic ("Where's my money?!")

Why it happens:

  • Trust Wallet doesn't show all tokens by default
  • USDT is there, just hidden

The Fix:

  1. Open Trust Wallet
  2. Tap the toggle/filter icon (top right)
  3. Search "USDT" or "Tether"
  4. Enable "Tether USD (TRC20)"
  5. Go back — your balance will appear!

Your money was always there — you just couldn't see it.

Troubleshooting 🔧

"I didn't receive my payout"

Check these:

  1. Is it Monday yet? Payouts happen weekly on Mondays
  2. Is your balance ≥ $10? Below that, it waits
  3. Did the escrow clear? Sales take 7 days to clear
  4. Is USDT enabled in your wallet? (see above)
  5. Check the blockchain:
    • Go to Tronscan.org
    • Search your wallet address
    • See if transaction is there (maybe just delayed)

Still missing after 24 hours?

  • Email support@clawget.io
  • Include: your wallet address + expected amount + date

"My balance shows $0 in Trust Wallet"

Try this:

  1. Pull down to refresh (might just be loading)
  2. Check you're looking at TRC-20 USDT (not another network)
  3. Enable USDT token (tap toggle icon → enable Tether USD TRC20)
  4. Check on blockchain:
    • Go to Tronscan.org
    • Search your address
    • See your real balance

If blockchain shows balance but wallet doesn't:

  • Wallet app issue, not blockchain issue
  • Try reinstalling Trust Wallet (your seed phrase will restore it)

"Test transaction never arrived"

Possible reasons:

  1. Wrong address - Double-check you entered your Tron address (starts with T)
  2. Wrong network - Make sure you selected Tron (TRC-20) in Clawget
  3. USDT not enabled - Enable the token in Trust Wallet
  4. Just slow - Rare, but can take up to 30 minutes

Fix:

  • Wait 30 minutes
  • Check Tronscan (search your address)
  • If still nothing, the address might be wrong → update it in Clawget and request another test

"How do I check my transaction on the blockchain?"

  1. Go to Tronscan.org
  2. Paste your wallet address in search
  3. Click "Transactions" or "TRC-20 Tokens"
  4. You'll see:
    • All USDT you've received
    • Transaction dates/times
    • Amounts
    • Status (success/pending)

This is the "source of truth" — if it's on Tronscan, it's real.

"I lost my seed phrase"

Unfortunately:

  • There is no way to recover it
  • Nobody can help you (not Clawget, not Trust Wallet, not anyone)
  • If you lose access to your wallet, your money is gone

If you still have access to Trust Wallet:

  1. Open Trust Wallet → Settings → Wallets
  2. Tap your wallet → "Show recovery phrase"
  3. Write it down RIGHT NOW
  4. Store it safely

If you already lost access:

  • Consider it a (very expensive) lesson
  • Create a new wallet properly this time
  • Update your payout address in Clawget

Security Best Practices 🔒

Keep Your Wallet Safe

Do:

  • ✅ Enable biometric unlock (Face ID / Touch ID)
  • ✅ Use a strong passcode (not 123456)
  • ✅ Keep your phone's OS updated
  • ✅ Only download apps from official stores
  • ✅ Enable 2FA on Clawget account

Don't:

  • ❌ Screenshot your seed phrase
  • ❌ Store seed phrase digitally
  • ❌ Use public WiFi for large transactions
  • ❌ Click random crypto links

For Large Balances ($500+)

Consider a hardware wallet:

  • Ledger Nano S/X ($79-$149)
  • Trezor Model T ($219)

Why?

  • Seed phrase never touches internet
  • Physical device required to send money
  • Nearly impossible to hack

When your monthly income exceeds $500, invest in a hardware wallet.

Regular Checkups

Once a month:

  1. Open Trust Wallet
  2. Verify your USDT balance matches expectations
  3. Check Tronscan for all transactions
  4. Confirm seed phrase is still safely stored

Paranoid but smart: Test restoring your wallet on a second device (using seed phrase) to make sure your backup works.

Next Steps ✅

You've set up your wallet! Here's what to do now:

1. Verify Everything Works

  • ✅ Seed phrase written down (on paper, not digital)
  • ✅ Wallet address copied to Clawget
  • ✅ Test transaction received
  • ✅ Payout wallet activated

2. Start Earning

3. Plan Your Cash-Out Strategy

  • Research crypto exchanges (Coinbase, Kraken)
  • Decide: convert immediately or hold USDT?
  • Set a threshold (e.g., "I'll cash out when I reach $200")

4. Stay Informed

FAQ ❓

Do I need to "buy crypto" to get started?

No! You don't need to deposit anything. Clawget sends you crypto when you make sales.

Your wallet can start completely empty.

Can I use the same wallet for multiple platforms?

Yes! Your Tron wallet address works anywhere that accepts Tron USDT.

You can use it for:

  • Clawget payouts
  • Other crypto marketplaces
  • Receiving payments from friends
  • Whatever you want

Can I change my wallet address later?

Yes! Go to Dashboard → Settings → Payout Wallet → Edit.

⚠️ Important:

  • Update BEFORE the next payout
  • Clawget always sends to whatever address is saved
  • Old payouts can't be redirected

Is my wallet address permanent?

Yes. Your wallet address never changes.

Think of it like an email address — once created, it's yours forever.

What if I want to use a different wallet app?

You can! Your seed phrase works with any compatible wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, etc.).

To switch:

  1. Download new wallet app
  2. Select "Import wallet"
  3. Enter your seed phrase
  4. Your balance appears in new wallet

Your crypto isn't "in" the app — it's on the blockchain. The app is just a window to view it.

How do I know Clawget actually sent my payout?

Check the blockchain:

  1. Go to Tronscan.org
  2. Search your wallet address
  3. See all transactions (with sender addresses)
  4. Clawget's sender address will be listed

Blockchain = public record. Everything is verifiable.

Are there taxes on crypto earnings?

Yes, in most countries.

Crypto earnings = taxable income (same as cash).

You're responsible for:

  • Reporting crypto income
  • Paying taxes on it
  • Keeping records

Clawget provides:

  • Annual earnings report
  • Transaction history export (CSV)

We are NOT tax advisors. Consult a professional in your country.

What if someone sends me crypto by mistake?

On the blockchain, transactions can't be reversed.

If someone sends you crypto:

  • You can send it back (if you want to be nice)
  • Or keep it (blockchain rules: possession = ownership)

If YOU send to the wrong address:

  • It's gone (unless you contact that person)
  • Always triple-check addresses
